Well sweetie, if you feel the need to shed a few extra pounds, the easiest and most economical way would be to carefully prepare your own foods making sure to only consume healthy ingredients. Avoid what is known as the “white foods” such as pasta, pizza, bread and cakes - basically things that are made with processed/bleached flour. Avoid fried foods, and snacks. Potatoes are heavy in starch, a carbohydrate, therefore quite high on the Glycemic Index table so try not to eat them whilst dieting although there is much controversy involving types of potatoes and cooking methods. Needless to say avoid foods with added sugar. Preparing your own meals instead of eating out or buying ready-made foods means you can maintain quality control, lower your portions and keep a keen eye on nutritional value and intake. I really don’t believe in counting calories, I think it is futile and disheartening. It is much better and kinder to your state of mind to simply be aware of all the foods and liquids that you place in your mouth. Be aware of your moods and habits and try not to be controlled by them, this way you are less likely to eat out of guilt, boredom, sadness or worry. I think if you can manage to combine this holistic approach to weight loss together with a gentle and toning exercise routine, there is no reason why you cannot lose weight healthy and effectively. Good luck on your journey! Peace <3
