Oh I know, right? I think I have OCD when it comes to reading labels and sometimes I wish I was ignorant of the whole damn thing because chemical additives especially the ones that are completely unnecessary really disgust me!
There is no way I will ever go back to using shampoo especially after feeling how cleaner and shinier my hair is with baking soda and apple cider vinegar. Anyway, I came across some youtube videos which you might find helpful. Basically, they show how to make an herbal hair rinse using dried and fresh herbs. Now, some of these folks have dreads which I know you don’t but either way, I think herbal hair rinses are beautiful and natural ways of maintaining healthy scalp and hair. By adding a few drops of any fatty oil (nut oil) and your favourite essential oils to any of these recipes, you will have a nice natural alternative to shop bought conditioner:video 1

Personally I love organic coconut oil with the butter still inside it. I use it to condition my hair and body. To this you can add any number of things like banana, honey, avocado, mango… just blend it all together and saturate your hair, wear a shower cap for 20 mins and then rinse off. Give it a try and I think you will be pleasantly surprised! Peace & love <3
